St. Michaels Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council acts as an advisory group to the pastor concerning parish matters, including but not limited to liturgy, finance, development, and religious education (adult and children). The council represents the parishioners and offers a forum for communication, discussion and policy making.

NEW: Council Elections

The Pastoral Council Elections are coming up in September, and like our country, we are seeking individuals who are interested in active participation in the parish advisement process. In other words, we need parishioners to step up and be candidates for the council. The term is for 3 years and we meet the first Wednesday of each month from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We are the advisement council to Father Mike and, when necessary, offer our thoughts, concerns and praise. We hope that there are people out there that can give one evening a month for their parish.

We will be accepting names until the 31st of July which at that time we will prepare a slate of candidates to offer to the parish for voting in mid-September. If your name is offered by someone else, we will contact you confidentially and ask if you are interested, you will not be automatically added to the slate of candidates.

We hope that members of St. Michael´s Church will come forward to provide the support and guidance that the council presently offers. Only with our parishioners are we able to pull together and form a strong base from which to support our church and the church family. Please consider running for Pastoral Council. For questions, or to be a candidate, please contact Kathy Brossart at 301-829-6924 or Jim Olivarri at 210-382-7143.
