Meetings: Planning committee meetings are held once a month from October until a month before the event. During the month of the event, there will be more frequent meetings.

Purpose: This is an annual silent and live auction spring fundraiser, to reduce the parish mortgage. The proceeds are used to make regular principal payments on the mortgage, helping the parish reach their goal of being responsible stewards of the debt incurred to build the religious education wing and gym/multi-purpose building. Since the first Hoedown in 2005, $305,000 has been raised and used to pay down the mortgage! The event includes dinner, drinks, gaming, live entertainment, dancing as well as the auctions. All parishioners are encouraged to participate by selling tickets, providing volunteer service, advertising in the program, contributing an auction item, baking a dessert, selling raffle tickets, among other things.
