About MSD

Founded in 1990 by Dave Jordan under the name of Mil-Spec Documentation, MSD's first clients were Baltimore-area prime contractors to the US Navy and DoD. Since its Maryland incorporation in 1992, MSD has expanded its client base to include commercial high-tech companies in the Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and suburban Maryland technology corridors. Beginning in Year 2000, MSD's consulting services of its Technical Documentation Consultant (The DocuDoctor^®) are expanding to include clients located around the continental U.S.

Since the beginning, MSD has documented systems within the following disciplines:

             Broadcast Media Systems
             Law Enforcement
             Financial and Accounting Systems
             Telephony, Video, and Communications Systems
             Software applications and User Interfaces

MSD has worked hard to distinguish itself from the competing technical writing and editing companies coexisting in the business sector. While there will always be a need for competent technical writers and editors, we have endeavoured to succeed on the most technical level of documentation development. The creation of technical documents should always be part of the development lifecycle, therefore we, as competent technical (and engineering) writers, must have intimate knowledge of that process. The primary niche that we fill is that layer between the system designers and architects, and the technical writers and editors that work for both our clients and our competitors.
